Senior Data Engineer (m/f) – Coimbra

Claire Joster is recruiting a Senior Data Engineer (m/f) for a client that operates in the energy sector.

The company is currently hiring people for a Senior Data Engineer to define data pipelines and lead data strategies. Your job will include:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs;
Translate business requirements into scalable and reliable data solutions;
Design, build, and maintain data pipelines;
Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of data workflows;
Apply best practices in CI/CD, version control, and data quality monitoring;
Integrate AI/ML tools for anomaly detection and predictive checks;
Ensure observability using platforms like Grafana or similar tools;
Mentor team members and support their technical development;
Promote clean architecture, proper documentation, and the use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.

Key qualifications:

Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field;
At least 7 years of experience in Data Engineering, Architecture, or similar roles;
Extensive engineering skills, including machine learning engineering;
Proficiency in multiple programming languages (Python, Java, Scala, C/C#) and SQL/NoSQL database management systems (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB);
Hands-on experience in ETL/ELT development and tools;
Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks (Tensorflow, Spark) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Kafka);
Knowledge of time series databases (TimescaleDB, InfluxDB);
Strong communication and problem-solving skills;
High level of autonomy and proactivity;
Experience in leading and mentoring teams;
Ability to learn, adapt to, and apply new technologies and innovations;
Fluent in English, written and spoken.
